Born in1876, C G Pettersson was the most well-known Swedish boat designer ever. No matter what size, motor or sail, he designed what people wanted.
During the early decades of the 20th century he created more than a 1000 boats. Each one of them with an individual design. But he didn’t only make an impressive number of drawings; CGP also brought the whole concept of motorized leisure boats to Sweden, and created a type of boat still associated with adventures on the Baltic sea.
Each Pettersson boat is a high quality product. Many of them are still used today, almost 100 years later. The Smulan, now 89 years old, is a fine example.
C. G. P. was and always will be the biggest boat designer ever lived in Sweden. He made boating possible for a whole nation. He died in 1953 but his boats still cruise the same waters he once did.
